It's hard to talk about Edgedancer because it's just a good book. It even stands on its own outside of the shadow of Brandon Sanderson's work. Is that a requirement for a work that's part of a universe, that it has to stand alone?
For those of you who haven't read Sanderson's work, especially the Stormlight Archives, are you more interested now? For those of you have read him, is this a good on-ramp? Are there better ones?
Next month we're reading The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde.

Wednesday Jul 06, 2022
This month we read Neuromancer. It's a classic work of science fiction that created the cyberpunk genre. Does it hold up? Is it a good read? Is it a trendsetter that stands up, like Die Hard, or one that is eventually surpassed by its progeny, like Stan Lee?
July's book is Brandon Sanderson novella, Edgedancer.

Jim Butcher's Stormfront is our book for this month. It's a supernatural mystery and if it didn't create the urban fantasy genre, it popularized it. There's a lot to unpack, from the magic system to the mystery itself and what makes a book 'good.'
Next month we'll be looking at science fiction classic Neuromancer.

A story of a fantastic place and a person within it. It's hard to talk about Piranesi without unraveling the threads of the story. The experience is in the reading and a factual recitation doesn't do it justice.
The five of us will try though.
